Dr. Amanda Chang grew up all over the world due to her father’s military career, but considers Honolulu, Hawaii to be her hometown. She started riding when she was five, and her love and passion for horses only grew from there. No matter where she lived, horses remained one of the few constants in her life. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. Dr. Chang completed an internship at an equine practice in Aiken, South Carolina, completed a second internship here at Myrtle Beach Equine Clinic, and then continued to work for MBEC as an associate veterinarian. In 2018, Dr. Chang purchased the practice. Her goal is to continue to serve the clients and patients of MBEC with the same level of care and quality of medicine that they have come to expect. She has a special interest in equine dentistry, equine geriatric care, and equine lameness and rehabilitation. Dr. Chang enjoys working on other species as well. She especially enjoys goat herd health, cattle herd health, and zoo and exotic species medicine. Dr. Chang is certified in veterinary acupuncture for all species and has an interest in chiropractic work.
In her spare time, she enjoys paddleboarding, surfing, traveling, photography, and going to the movies. Dr. Chang, joined Wild Things Freedom Center to help give back to her community.
